UNIQUE TEEN ADVENTURE!
PREPARE TO Go to Hell!
HELL & BACK Teen is an intense 8KM off-road course set amidst the stunning scenery of Killruddery Estate, winding through rugged trails, mountain paths and wild terrain.

Along the route, your teenager will face some of HELL & BACK’s most infamous obstacles, including the thrilling Water Jump, Splashdown Slide, Heartbreak Ridge, Valley of Pain and many more! Each challenge is designed to build resilience and test their limits – all while having a blast with friends.

And there’s no pressure - they can walk around any obstacle they are not comfortable doing, including the water obstacles if they are a non-swimmer.
HELL & BACK Teen is suitable for teenagers aged 12 to 17, with no adult accompaniment needed, so they can enjoy the independence of tackling the course with friends.

Register a Team
Why not make it a group adventure? Register a team of 2 or more and let your teenager bring their schoolmates, teammates or friends along for the ride. Our “Syndicated Payment” option lets you send each participant a link to pay for their own ticket, saving you the hassle of collecting money.
FEET
• Trial runners are best (better grip in muddy conditions)
• Astro boots also work well
• We strongly advise you do not wear normal runners or any other footwear, as the reduced grip will increase your risk of injury
• Studs, cleats, blades & spikes are NOT PERMITTED
HANDS
• Fingerless cycling gloves are best as full finger gloves may get water logged
UPPER BODY
• Base Layer – compression top
• Top Layer – Technical t-shirt (optional)
• Wear long sleeves to help protect your arms at crawl obstacles
• Avoid cotton materials!!
LEGS
• Compression leggings are recommended to help protect legs when crawling.
• Avoid flimsy material that may rip or tear.
REMEMBER
• Duct Tape, Electrical Tape & Cable Ties are not allowed on your shoes as they come off too easily and thus become a danger to the livestock on the farm.
• Make sure you TRIPLE KNOT your laces instead.
Minimum Age
Children aged 12 on 7th June 2025 can participate in this H&B Teen 8KM course independently (no adult required). The course is based on the H&B Adult 8KM route, with certain obstacles closed to ensure safety for younger participants. Teens also have the option to walk around any obstacles they find challenging or unsuitable.

Swimming Requirements
The H&B Teen 8KM course includes water obstacles in Splash Zone around Killruddery’s lake, featuring challenges including Pontoon Mania, Water Jump and Splashdown Slide.

From a water safety perspective, everyone is fitted with a buoyancy aid when they get in the vicinity of the Lake, while our team of lifeguards patrol both from in the water on kayaks and from the bank.
Non-swimmers or teenagers uncomfortable with water will have the option to bypass these sections.
Spectator Tip: Splash Zone is about a 10-15 minute walk from the Event Village. Follow the spectator signs but plan accordingly if you want to return in time to catch the finishers!
